William Frank Park, 79, of Sharpsburg, Md., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fla.
Born Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1933, in Waynesburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry A. Park and Ruth M. Park.
He received a bachelor of arts degree from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, and later his master's degree in accounting from Georgetown University.
He was employed by the Internal Revenue Service and was later appointed to the Renegotiation Board of the Department of Defense, where he earned his certified public accountant certification.
While in Hagerstown, Md., Frank was the proprietor of the CPA firm W.F. Park & Co. for many years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Methodist faith.
He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and many other organizations, including the Hagerstown Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow.
He served for many years as a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, and especially enjoyed donating his time helping various nonprofit organizations throughout Washington County.
He was also a supporter and contributor to schools of higher education.
He is survived by his wife, Yoshi T. Park; stepdaughter, Patricia R. Doub and husband, Edward, of Williamsport, Md.; sister-in-law, Ethel Park and family of Ripley, W.Va.; as well as the Gargano and Ungvarsky families.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Park.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Doris Doub officiating. Interment will be private.
