More details are being released about the four Calexico teens who overdosed on medication Wednesday night.

Two boys and two girls were airlifted after taking 10-milligram pills of Baclofen, a muscle relaxant, said Calexico Police Chief Jim Neujahr. The children, ranging from 14 to 17 years old, were taken to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and are in critical condition, though it is not known whether it is life threatening. The four are on ventilators.

Another boy was at the scene, but he only took half a pill, Neujahr said. One of the females who was airlifted had been conscious when emergency personnel arrived, but she started to throw up and passed out before long.

Neujahr added that he didn’t know whether the case was related to the one in Holtville where three teens were taken to the emergency room Monday.
