"Any obstacle in her way she finds a way around it, and that's what I love about her because I know she'll go very far in life," Aimee Sanchez, a Klein Oak High School senior and Beasley's best friend, said.
Our Class Act of The Week has a story of struggle and inspiration.
Beasley's mom kicked her out in Brownsville, Texas, several years ago, which meant nights on the streets as well as an encounter with police because, according to Beasley, her mom told them she ran away from home which is not true.
"And they told her like, 'hey, we have your daughter would you come pick her up?' And she's like, 'no, I don't want anything to do with her,'" said Beasley.
But you know who did want something to do with Beasley? Her father.
"They awarded him custody, full custody of me," said Beasley.
Since moving in with her father, Beasley has progressed into an amazing student with a sparkling grade point average.
"She takes the hardest classes here," Kia Beguesse, a counselor at Klein Oak High School, said. "She's in anatomy, she's in the health science classes; she takes AP [advanced placement] classes."
Beasley's the captain of the standleaders, member of the student council, and co-vice president of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).
"It's kind of like a medical club," said Beasley.
Beasley, 18, has earned an academic scholarship to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, this fall.
"To not only get her education but be a part of that environment, especially from where she came from is just a great example not only for kids at Klein Oak but for kids all across the country," Ron Webster, a principal at Klein Oak High School, said.
"I want to study psychology," said Beasley. "I want to become a doctor psychiatrist and help kids like me."
"She's showing like you can go through hard times and still be able to come through," said Keesha Marshall, a senior at Klein Oak High School.
"You're gonna fall down, and you may stay down for a while, but you just gotta push back up and you've gotta believe," said Beasley.
This Klein Oak Panthers standout is proof that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible. How inspirational is that?
