You probably saw Emile Hirsch's remarkable performance in INTO THE WILD last year, or his hollow one in SPEED RACER this year. Well, he certainly started his career off on the right foot with this little gem! Sigourney Weaver delivers one of the best performances of her career in this bitter-sweet dramedy about family, and coping with the loss of a popular teenage boy. It's more of an 'ensemble' coming of age tale that features the growth of each and everyone in the family. It's heart warming, odd, a bit sad, a bit funny, and resonates long after watching it.
