SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Jeff Drake will become Springfield’s 32nd postmaster at an installation ceremony scheduled for Friday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. at Springfield’s Main Post Office, 500 W. Chestnut Expressway.

Drake began his Postal Service career in 1996 as a flat sorter clerk in Fort Worth, Texas.  He moved into management in 2000 and has worked in various managerial capacities, primarily in the Postal Service’s Rio Grande District.  He was the manager of Customer Services in Austin and, prior to his appointment as Springfield postmaster, Drake served as Midland, Texas, postmaster.

Drake has administrative responsibility for an annual budget of more than $44 million, one mail processing plant, three delivery units, and three retail window units.

The Springfield Post Office delivers to more than 117,000 customers daily.  The Springfield Plant processes mail for the Springfield metro area, southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.
