The simple, white porcelain teapot gets interpreted in some fresh ways in Crate & Barrel's new line by 12 international artists. The limited edition collection premieres Dec. 1 in honor of Crate & Barrel's 50th anniversary, with a different design showcased every month thereafter. Each of the Bauhaus-inspired teapots will be signed, numbered and limited in quantity to 200, available online.
Helsinki, Finland-based artist Janine Rewell launches the series with “Sea Journey,” shown at top left, a design inspired by her love of Slavic folk art and Scandinavian design.

The teapots are $200 a piece; shipping is $4.95. Crate & Barrel said sales will be limited to one per customer per each month's design.
