UCLA freshman Ellis McCarthy to miss Holiday Bowl after surgery

UCLA defensive end Ellis McCarthy's freshman season ended last week when he underwent surgery on his right knee. He will miss the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl on Dec. 27.
