1. The Gossiping Gourmet: Nirvana in the fullest sense

The consistently good food and the changing seasonal menu keep bringing us back to Nirvana Grille in Laguna Beach. This attractive, comfortable space is divided into the bar area with tall communal tables for eating and drinking and the cozy dining room. A beautiful stone wall provides a backdrop to the bar while large windows give the room a light and airy feeling and small, original plein air paintings decorate the walls. Larger parties of 10 to 12 can dine at a private table in the back. In warmer weather, there is a covered outdoor patio upstairs called the Bliss Bar.

  13. Her own heat wave

The coconut lotion oozed slowly out of the bottle snaking its way from my shoulders toward the wrinkles on my arm, leaving the dimpled kneecap and heading for the space between my toes. I stretched out on the bed, not even noticing the greasy stain...

  15. Culinary SOS: Roberto's gambas Mozambique from España Restaurant

Dear SOS: Last summer, my girlfriend and I spent our vacation on Florida's Amelia Island. We stopped by a lovely, quaint Spanish restaurant in Fernandina Beach called España. Its gambas Mozambique (shrimp Mozambique style) was extraordinary. I'd love the recipe so we could enjoy this fabulous dish more than just once a year.
