  1. Review: East Moon Asian Bistro

Asian food aficionados probably think they’re living next door to nirvana these days. No longer does the crowd have to agree on one type of fare. With the current trend in Far East-style eateries, most everyone can be satisfied.

  3. New Haven-Brewed Sake Will Soon Be the Talk of the Town

No one really bats an eye anymore when someone tells you they've been brewing beer in their garage. Or basement. Or kitchen. Homebrewing is super popular these days, what with the rise in popularity of craft beers and the notion that beer doesn't have to be only for chugging and frat boys. But what would your reaction be if someone you knew said they were going to make their own sake? Probably a mix of puzzlement and disbelief, to start. Sake (sometimes called "rice wine") is brewed in a manner akin to beer, thus making it entirely within the realm of reasonable homebrewing efforts. For New Havener Chris Dircks, brewing his own sake has become more than just a hobby.

  13. The food can be as heavy as the music

Eating at Coachella is one of my favorite things to do, and not because the food is stellar. It could be from the exhaustion of running tirelessly over the fields from stage to stage, or the heat, but each year I drop all semblance of a sensible diet and find myself splurging on the deliciously gluttonous greasy-spoon options that dot the field.
