Not since 2007 has the Lehigh Valley's Division III teams been shut out of the NCAA Tournament, but that is the case in 2013.
However, postseason basketball is not over for three area teams.
DeSales men are the No. 2 seed in the ECAC South Region Tournament and host No. 7 Moravian at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Moravian women are the No. 1 seed in the ECAC event and host No. 8 Neumann, also at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the quarterfinals.
Men's and women's semifinals and finals are Saturday and Sunday at the highest remaining seeds.
DeSales women and Muhlenberg men and women opted not to be considered for the ECAC tournament. All three lost in the semifinals of their respective conference events.
Meanwhile, the PSAC is down to its final night of regular-season action Wednesday.
East Stroudsburg men and women are in the conference tournament, which starts Saturday. Kutztown women also have qualified.
The Kutztown men have been eliminated.
ECAC MEN
Moravian (14-11) already owns a win this season over DeSales (21-6). It came back on Nov. 20 in the teams' third games of the season. Quakertown's Kenny Gula made a layup with seven seconds left in overtime to give the Greyhounds a 66-64 home win.
Allen High product Garrett Johnson led Moravian with 16 points.
Brett Moyer was the only Bulldog in double figures with 26.
DeSales lost a 77-72 heartbreaker to Delaware Valley in the Freedom Conference title game Saturday at Billera Hall. Moyer had 19 points and a school-record 26 rebounds.
Moravian hasn't played since losing in the Landmark Conference regular-season finale Feb. 16 at eventual tournament champion Catholic. The Greyhounds lost their last two games to miss the conference tournament by one game.
DeSales is making its third consecutive appearance in the ECAC tournament. The Bulldogs are 11-11 all time in 14 ECAC appearances, having won titles in 1991 and 2007.
Moravian is making its first postseason of any kind since the 2008 NCAA Tournament. It last made the ECACs in 2003.
DeSales leads the all-time series 20-19, but Moravian has won the last two.
