Enough with the fast food already. This is getting ridiculous. Childhood obesity has risen exponentially in the United States and not without severe consequences. It crosses all socio-economic strata and needs to be addressed before the whole country has a collective heart attack. Dr. Diane Mickley (pictured) is an internist who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. She'll give a lecture called Childhood Obesity: Epidemic Proportions Tuesday afternoon at the Bruce Museum as part of their "Lunch and Learn" series to help shed some light on the situation. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Preferably with some fruit or vegetables in there.
