Back in 1779, British troops landed in Fairfield and set the town ablaze over the course of two days. A shot fired from the fort at Black Rock was the signal that the invasion was coming. This Saturday, the Fairfield Museum and History Center commemorates this event by leading a tour through the town that stops at homes on or adjacent to the town green with actors posing as citizens from that era, using the actual words said by residents 233 years ago.
