With 34 of the 35 bowl games already in the books, we thought it would be a good time to look at how conferences are doing so far this postseason. Here is the breakdown with records and grades.
ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE
The Buzz: The ACC's postseason struggles continue with loses by Duke and N.C. State, but Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech managed to put together two big wins followed by a major victory by Clemson over LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. The league wrapped up the postseason with Florida State securing a BCS victory over Northern Illinois.
Overall record: 4-2
The Buzz: The conference sent nine teams to bowl games this season and early on, the Big 12 has found relative success. Baylor, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State all captured victories with wins coming against schools in AQ conferences. Newcomers West Virginia and TCU both suffered loses along with Iowa State. Losses by both Kansas State and Oklahoma capped off a semi-disappointing postseason for the league.
Overall record: 4-5
The Buzz: Despite all of the turmoil off the field, the Big East has been a beast this postseason. With victories over Duke (ACC), West Virginia (Big 12) and now Florida (SEC) the conference has made it known that they are not afraid of the competition.
Overall record: 3-2
The Buzz: A disappointing season in the Big Ten culminated into a disappointing postseason for the league. With seven bowl eligible teams, only Michigan State and Northwestern earned bowl victories while ranked programs like Wisconsin, Michigan and Nebraska all suffered tough losses.
Overall record: 2-5
The Buzz: Let's hear it for CUSA. The conference may have struggled this season, but in the postseason the league has been outstanding. UCF, SMU, Rice and Tulsa all scored wins with only East Carolina failing to crack the win column. An 8-2 bowl record over the past two seasons is a mark worthy of noting.
Overall record: 4-1
