Information on respite and home care, long-term care, in-home evaluation, aging in place/home modifications, retirement/planning for the future, Medicare and health insurance, chronic disease management, housing, transportation, income management and legal services. Who will be Howard County's Next Senior Idol?

The Howard County Department of Citizen Services' Office on Aging will hold auditions Feb. 14, 12:30-2:30 p.m., at the Ellicott City Senior Center, 9401 Frederick Road, in Ellicott City. Singers must be age 60 or older to try out. 2012 Income Tax Preparation and Assistance

Evening and weekend appointments available. No Age limitation. AARP and the IRS are sponsoring free personal income tax preparation for Howard County residents. The tax service is available to all middle- and low-income taxpayers, with special emphasis on ages 60 and older. Self-employment returns with more than $5,000 in expenses and complex returns are not eligible for this service.
