Northern Michigan Chorale concert features Disney musical theme

Two performances are planned: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday, Nov. 2 and 4, at John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View.
The concert will open with "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" followed by a medley from "Beauty and the Beast" featuring soloists, Tony Fighter, Jamie Platte, Anthony La Joye and Dore Furstenberg. A small ensemble will sing favorite songs from "The Little Mermaid" and "Seize the Day." Choral highlights from "Mary Poppins" will feature soloists Bobbie Barger, Dawn Ulrich, Ruth Wilkey and Darla Smela. Rosanna Hank is the soloist in "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" from "The Lion King." Susan Cavell is the soloist in "Reflection" from "Mulan," and Mary D. Bowman will sing "Rumbly in My Tumbly" from "Winnie the Pooh." Also included are "Colors of the Wind" from "Pocahontas" and "God Help the Outcasts" from "The Hunchback from Notre Dame" featuring Mikayla Cerrudo and Amy Bell.
One hundred and twenty singers from all over Northern Michigan make up the Northern Michigan Chorale for this concert. Peter D. Sims is directing the chorale, with Michelle Mitchum playing piano and Howard Richards on keyboards.
Ticket are $10 for adults, and $7 for those age 18 and under. To obtain tickets, contact the Petoskey chamber of commerce office or a Northern Michigan Chorale member.
The ticket booth at Hall auditorium in Bay View will have tickets available one hour prior to performances.
