After the Newtown, CT., shooting, President Obama said he would move forward quickly on gun safety and control matters and he did that just more than a month after the incident that killed 26, including 20 children.
Signing executive orders and pushing legislation to force background checks, ban
assault weapons and limit magazine capacities, the president took on a fight
Wednesday where others choose not to tread.
The NRA is out there you see, and they wield power.
And of course as the president was putting out his proposals they were setting out
to raise money by basically saying "We told you so, the president is lying and he's
here to take your guns!"
As if.
What the president proposed would be considered modest requests if it weren't for
the paranoia and hysteria of those who've always believed that President Obama's
main goal is to disarm and "take over" America. Seriously, people believe that. If
you don't think so, why did gun sales jump after his re-election and after Newtown?
Because he's going to take them away, of course.
Don't even get me started with the folks out there who believe Newtown was a hoax to
simply provide the president an excuse to disarm the nation. Don't believe me? Look
it up.
The NRA complains that the administration doesn't want a debate, doesn't want to
talk mental health efforts or securing the schools -- never mind these are part of
