  21. Willard H. "Bill" Livengood, 93, of Springs

Willard H. "Bill" Livengood, 93, of Springs, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at his residence. Born March 31, 1919, in Meyersdale, he was the son of the late Homer H. and Effie (King) Livengood. He was also preceded in death by one son, Pastor Kenneth Livengood; one great-grandson, Noah Matthew Pirolozzi; two brothers, Oren and Wayne Livengood and two sisters, Viletta Coblentz and infant sister, Miriam Livengood. Mr. Livengood was a 1938 graduate of Salisbury-Elk Lick High School and married his wife, Alvina (Miller) Livengood on June 22, 1947. Bill was a life-long member of the Springs Mennonite Church, where he and his wife, Alvina, participated in many Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) trips. He was also a member of the Springs Historical Society and for many years, a volunteer for the Springs Folk Festival Grounds Committee and volunteer at the World's Attic Thrift Shop. In later years he hauled steel for Robert Miller. After retiring from tractor trailer driving, he began employment with Keystone Lime Co., where he hauled stone for the next 29 years, retiring at age 89. His zest for exploring never diminished, as he greatly enjoyed his time on the open road. Bill loved to travel and he and Alvina were able to take their children across country.  Later they traveled with their extended family to Alaska and Europe and they also traveled to Israel and the Holy Land. Bill and his wife hosted many persons in their home such as international guests and musical group members from the church colleges while they were holding meetings at the church. He is survived by his wife, Alvina ( Miller) Livengood; one son, Terry L.
