Comedienne, author, entrepreneur, red carpet/fashion maven and sometimes Connecticut resident Joan Rivers celebrated a milestone 80th birthday last week, one that turned bittersweet after losing her sister Barbara just days before her June 8 natal day. But the birthday bash will go on this week when Rivers receives a special present from the “E” Entertainment network. In honor of her birthday, there will be extra episodes of her “Fashion Police” show (with daughter Melissa,) she will make appearances on several other “E” shows and there will be a special televised black-tie celebration on Friday. Categorizing 80 as “just a number,” Rivers was in between appearances on QVC selling her own line of jewelry when she took a break in the green room and Spilled the Beans with Java.
