  13. The best cookbooks for holiday gifts

If you are reading this story, there is a very good chance that someone you know is going to buy you a cookbook this holiday season. There's a good reason for that: You can have too many socks, sweaters, belts and slippers, but no one who has ever set foot in a kitchen has honestly said that he or she had too many cookbooks.

  23. Used Book Buyback Days this weekend at R.J. Julia Booksellers

Is your house overrun with used books taking up precious space that could be used for something else, or for newer, better books? Consider bringing your used books to R.J. Julia Booksellers this weekend during their Book Buyback Days. Finding out which books are worth anything is pretty simple. Head over to <a href="http://rjjulia.com" target="_blank">rjjulia.com</a> and click on the buyback link. Enter each book's ISBN number (a 10- or 13-digit number unique to each book) onto the buyback page, and print out the confirmation page with the book's value on it. Bring the books and print-outs to the store on June 9, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., or June 10, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and R.J. Julia's staff will inspect the books and give you store credit for the books that make the cut. If you can't check the books' value online beforehand, just bring them to the store.
