  2. Elizabeth Taylor's first wedding dress to be sold at auction

    Elizabeth Taylor's first wedding dress -- the one she wore as an 18-year-old when she <a href="http://documents.latimes.com/taylor-marries-conrad-hilton/">married Conrad Hilton Jr. in 1950</a> -- is slated to be sold at auction at Christie's in London on June 26. The gown, a gift to Taylor from MGM and designed by costume designer Helen Rose, is made of 25 yards of satin with a 15-foot train. It's corseted and embellished with bugle beads and seed pearls.     If the premiere of "Star Trek: Into Darkness" is any indication, high style will be alive and well in the 23rd century.
