1. Ray Lewis, Ed Reed enter the twilight of their careers working toward another playoff run

Shannon Sharpe remembers vividly the late-night conversations in his kitchen with a 25-year-old Ray Lewis.

3. Coffee Companion (10/31): your daily Ravens fix

Every morning, Monday through Friday, blogger Matt Vensel will hook you up with reading material -- mostly on the Ravens but with some other Baltimore sports stuff, too -- to skim through as you slug down coffee and slack off at the start of your workday. That way he’ll have an excuse to do the same to start his workday, too.

7. Could Ravens turn to Bryant McKinnie against the Giants?

It looks like Ravens coach John Harbaugh might be forced to start or at least use left offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie.

9. Jason Babin makes some sense but Ravens will have to wait it out

Jason Babin can still get after the quarterback. That, more than anything, is why after the veteran defensive end was surprisingly released by the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday, the Ravens were immediately mentioned as a potential fit.

11. Will the Ravens change up their struggling offensive line?

It will be interesting to see this week if the Ravens make any changes along the offensive line, a group that for the most part has struggled the past couple of weeks and will be under fire again come Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The position to watch, mainly because it’s been unsettled all season, would be left guard. The Ravens have now given three different players a trial run with Ramon Harewood getting five starts, Bobbie Williams getting four and Jah Reid starting the past two games. While coaches have praised Reid, I’m not sure that he’s stood out in a positive way any more than Harewood and Williams did. Like the other two, there has been some good and some bad. Reid was a third-round pick last year so the Ravens probably have the most invested in him, but head coach John Harbaugh has been clear all season that he’s going to play his five best guys. It will be interesting to see if the coaches deem Reid one of those five for a third straight week. The Ravens could insert Harewood or Williams back in or they could plug in Bryant McKinnie at left tackle, move Michael Oher to right tackle and then shift Kelechi Osemele to left guard. That would be a pretty drastic transformation for a 9-2 team, especially when there have been no indications that McKinnie is forcing their hands with his play in practice.

13. Ravens offensive line is swarmed by the Chargers

Quarterback Joe Flacco wasn't exactly in a comfort zone while leading the Ravens to a comeback victory.

15. Ravens are in trouble at left guard if Jah Reid's playing

The Baltimore Sun
When I keep hearing that second-year player Jah Reid might be getting some playing time at left guard, there is cause for concern. I knew he was a project when the Ravens drafted him in the third round out of Central Florida, but I haven't seen anything...

17. Following NFL rules, Ravens flood injury report

In the wake of the NFL fining the Ravens $20,000 for failing to list free safety Ed Reed’s torn shoulder labrum on injury reports, the team deluged Wednesday’s injury report by placing a season-high 15 players on it.

23. Don't expect major changes yet on Ravens' offensive line

Because of the poor performance by the offensive tackles against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, there had been some speculation that the Ravens might choose to start Bryant McKinnie at left tackle over Michael Oher and move Oher to the right side to replace rookie Kelechi Osemele. But that won't happen against the Cowboys on Sunday unless someone is really getting dominated.
