1. R.Lewis and E.Reed among Ravens who won't play tonight

Like coach John Harbaugh promised, several of the Ravens' veterans will not be playing in tonight's preseason opener at the Georgia Dome against the Atlanta Falcons.

  3. Ravens camp highlights, Webb continues interception streak

USING THEIR HANDS The secondary was particularly active in getting a hand on passes. Cornerbacks Jimmy Smith and Chykie Brown deflected two passes each, and outside linebacker Sergio Kindle tipped a Tyrod Taylor pass intended for rookie wide receiver Dorian Graham in the end zone. At one point, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron yelled at the offensive players on the sideline, “They’re reaching for the ball, and we’re not! Reach for the ball!”

  5. Who is left out on the NFL's free agent market?

Two weeks out from their first practice of training camp, the Ravens have just $606,858 available under the salary cap if they hope to, as they seem to do every year, acquire a key veteran before the start of this season. Of course, they could potentially free up more wiggle room by negotiating a long-term extension with running back Ray Rice or by releasing a pricey veteran this summer (maybe Bryant McKinnie, as NFL.com speculates?).

  9. Michael McAdoo happy to be back on the field

Besides seeing limited action in a pair of preseason games last summer, Michael McAdoo hasn’t played a meaningful game in nearly three years. After going undrafted in the 2011 supplemental draft, he was signed by the Ravens as a rookie free agent, but the outside linebacker spent the season on injured reserve. And in two seasons at North Carolina before the NCAA suspended him, McAdoo made just 29 tackles and three sacks.

  13. Some highlights from Wednesday's Ravens OTA

The Ravens just got off the field after today’s voluntary offseason team activity. Cornerback Jimmy Smith and left tackle Bryant McKinnie were present after missing last Wednesday’s practice, but 19 players, including second-year players Jah Reid and Pernell McPhee, were not. Here are some of the highlights from the practice:

  17. After 16 NFL seasons, Ravens' Ray Lewis still changing with the game

After playing 16 NFL seasons, getting invited to 13 Pro Bowls and establishing himself as a future Hall of Famer and one of the most feared middle linebackers in league history, Ray Lewis returned home this offseason and decided change was in order.

  23. 11 players to watch at Ravens OTAs this week

The Ravens began organized team activities Tuesday, marking the first time this offseason that the team's rookies have been on the practice field with veterans. These workouts at the team’s facility in Owings Mills are optional for veterans, though I'm sure coach John Harbaugh hopes all of them will be in attendance. The OTAs will continue into June, setting the table for next month's mandatory minicamp.
