    NEWPORT NEWS — More than a year after AirTran airways flew out of the Newport News-Williamsburg Airport for the last time, nearly 400,000 fewer passengers are flying out of Hampton Roads, according to airport executive director Ken Spirito. It's not that they wouldn't like to fly, officials said, but with decreased capacity on many flights and airfare increasing, many passengers have decided to take alternate methods of travel.
