1. Let people marry whom they please

My conscience dictates whom I marry and if and when. I do not force these beliefs on anyone else. I don't want anyone to deny me the equal rights that all others enjoy. I married my man in 2008 and did not need a church, synagogue, or temple. Why? I...

  5. Squid ink on your plate, in your palate

Fearless eaters are in vogue. A slew of reality television shows and food blogs, ranging from the Travel Channel's"No Reservations" toYouTube's Epic Meal Time, encourage diners to eat first, ask later (if at all) — whether the food at hand is snake hearts or tripe or a gingerbread house made with steak bricks and Cheez Whiz mortar. Who needs to know what goes in that food? Taste those flavors, taste them again, and don't forget to clean your plate. Never mind the haters.

  7. Low Country Kitchen opens: Can you find the Frogmore Stew?

There's a new low-country cuisine joint in Baltimore. It's called Low Country Kitchen, but just try to find it. Unless you had a good reason to be walking past Hannah Williams' new take-out joint, you might never see it.

  19. 'Moby: Destroyed' on display at Samuel Owens Gallery in Greenwich

Moby is one of Fairfield County's most well-known native artists. Usually, it's because of his music (which goes all the way back to his days in the Darien-based 1980s hardcore band Vatican Commandos), but he can do other stuff too. As long as he's been touring the world, he's been carrying a camera along everywhere he goes. A new exhibit at Samuel Owens Gallery in Greenwich called Moby: Destroyed opens this Thursday, a collection of photos captured by Moby on an international journey that expose the often disconcerting behind-the-scenes aspects of touring. Moby will be on hand for the opening, and will sign his companion photo book, also called Moby: Destroyed from 6 to 7 p.m.
