And I'm willing to pay the price for a good, holistic dog food. In fact, it's a standing joke in my home that Ranger eats better than the humans in my family.

  7. GingerBread House is a treat for the senses

First, I'd like to thank all the kind readers who welcomed me back to work and to Retail Watch after my extended medical leave. It really warms my heart to know how caring you all are.

  9. Short-sighted passing zone in Lower Macungie

Q: I'm curious as to why Minesite Road immediately west of Cedar Crest Boulevard has a passing zone. This seems ridiculous to me; it's an unusual and dangerous place to allow passing. The road was repaved just last year and the same center-lane passing...

In a society of constant change and in an era when more and more people bemoan the fact that "things aren't what they used to be," it's nice to know that at least one thing hasn't changed in local high school boys basketball.

  21. Ford ball joint deficiencies can leave you flat

Q: My wife and I owned a 2001 Mercury Marquis and a 2001 Lincoln Town Car. At 70,000 miles, the driver's side ball joint broke on the Mercury as my wife was parking the car. It had been making noise for some time, but the garage said it was OK. At a little over 40,000 miles, the same thing happened with the Town Car again, when she was parking the car. On both occasions the wheel collapsed and the left front end lay flat on the ground. Have you heard from anyone else regarding this problem? Has Ford acknowledged any ball joint deficiencies? These experiences have converted me into a Nissan fan.
