NORMAL, Ill. —
An shooting early Saturday morning near the Illinois State University Campus in Normal left an ISU student wounded.
The unidentified female is being treated at a Twin City Hospital.
ISU President Al Bowman, in an email statement to ISU students, said the student's injuries “are not believed to be life-threatening,” adding that police “do not believe the suspect is an imminent threat to the campus community.”
Authorities say the campus remains secure.
Normal police say a confrontation between people at a gathering led to the shooting at 3 a.m. this morning. Their investigation continues.
