Michael Hyland joined FOX43 in April 2012 as a multimedia journalist after spending several years reporting in Virginia and West Virginia.
He most recently worked at WSAZ-TV in Charleston, West Virginia during one of the most fascinating (and complicated) periods in the state's political history. His interest in politics led him to launch a new blog and on-air franchise segment on the ever-changing political dynamics in the state.
Michael graduated summa cum laude from The George Washington University with a degree in journalism and minors in political science and theatre. He's a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa society. While in school, he interned for the weekend unit at CNN and for “Meet the Press” on NBC. (He keeps a framed picture of himself and Tim Russert on his desk.) He also spent a summer at WTTG/Fox 5 and a semester with the investigative team at WJLA-TV/ABC 7.
When he's not at work, you'll probably find him at the movies, wandering through a local bookstore or watching his favorite show, The Price is Right.
