A special gift was delivered to Central Indiana students with learning disabilities Wednesday.
Amazon presented 75 Kindle e-readers to The Hutson School which an Indianapolis-based school specializing in the education of children with dyslexia and other learning challenges.
Faculty there said the Kindles with features like highlighted and enlarged text, a built-in dictionary and text to speech will be a huge tool in helping the students learn.
“It was a miracle. It was a surprise. We danced for joy and just couldn't believe it. We were so grateful,” said Janet George, Head of Hutson School.
The Kindles are valued at $12,000.
Amazon also donated a $2,000 gift cards to the school in order to load different material onto the e-readers.
