Greenwood police are investigating an armed robbery at a Walgreens store late Wednesday night.
According to witnesses, a man entered the store at 1290 N. State Road 135 just before midnight and told the pharmacist he needed to pick up a prescription for “Tammy Maddox.” The pharmacist couldn’t find a prescription for anyone matching that name.
The man then drew a gun and pointed it at the pharmacist, demanding Roxicodone (a pain reliever) and Xanax (an anti-anxiety drug). After the pharmacist put the drugs in a bag, the man ordered the clerk to lie down on the floor. The man then left the store.
Investigators said the man was a white male in his mid-20’s, about 5’10” with a goatee. He wore blue jeans, a blue hoodie, a white baseball hat, gloves and multicolored shoes.
Anyone with information should call Greenwood police at (317) 887-5619.
