AT&T announced Tuesday that it will pledge $250 million to help more students graduate. The company used a west side school to illustrate how its program is designed to work.
The company recently gave one of its Aspire grants to Ben Davis High School. The grant was used to install a learning lab, which helps students who fall behind catch up.
The lab even helps some students graduate early and ensure they are prepared when they head off to college.
"It also taught me responsibility. In college, you don't really have somebody on top of you. You just have a deadline for your paper," said Jayme Matthias, student.
AT&T has pledged to disperse funds over the next five years to schools all over the country.
According to the company, the Aspire grants have already impacted more than one million U.S. students.
