As Indiana’s drought drags on, mandatory water restrictions are now in place in Bloomington.
The change will be in effect for the next city days, according to the city. The usage restrictions are set to last through October 11.
City officials have issued an Emergency Water Restriction Order affecting all Bloomington Utilities water customers.
The order restricts several activities, including:
- Outdoor watering
- Car washing
- Hosing or washing outdoor areas like sidewalks and driveways
- Filling empty swimming pools or hot tubs
- Operating fountains or other water features
