Jury selection got underway Monday in the case of a deadly boating crash that has already rewritten Indiana law.
Winston Wood is accused of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and causing injury.
Police said he was driving a ski boat that crashed into a fishing boat on Monroe Lake back in 2010. Susan Collier and her 8-year-old grandson, Gage Pruett, were killed.
A blood test showed Winston had marijuana in his system.
The victims' family got state lawmakers to change Indiana law so that people with drugs in their system can now be charged with operating a boat while intoxicated.
