...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM AKDT THIS EVENING FOR EAST ANCHORAGE TURNAGAIN ARM AND THE HILLSIDE...

* LOCATION...East Anchorage and other areas right along the mountains as well as Turnagain Arm and the Hillside.

* WIND...Along Turnagain Arm and the upper hillside, southeast winds 50 to 65 mph with gusts to 80 mph. For East Anchorage and the lower Hillside, southeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph. The rest of Anchorage, southeast winds 15 to 30 with gusts to 45 mph.

* TIMING...Winds will continue to increase this morning with the peak winds occurring from late morning through mid afternoon. The winds should diminish below warning level by early evening, although gusty winds are expected to persist through Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...Travel may be difficult. Trees may be blown over. Loose debris can be moved and damage property.

A high wind warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind.
