The calm remains for most of the state today and tonight.  Highs will be near or above average.  Expect single digits and teens in the Interior, 30s in Southeast, and 20s and low 30s for Southcentral with partly to mostly cloudy skies and generally dry weather.

The west coast isn't so lucky.  While temperatures are headed way up, heavy snow and strong winds will lead to blizzard conditions through tonight for St. Lawrence Island and the Y-K Delta.  Up to a foot of snow may fall along the Nulato Hills and the Seward Peninsula.  Winds will gust to near 60 mph along the coast.  Reduced visibilities in snow and blowing snow are likely. Winter Storm Watches and Warnings are in effect for St. Marys, Unalakleet, Anvik, Nome, and Galena.

As the warmer air over the Aleutians today moves north overnight, snow will mix with of change to all rain in Southwest, making for messy travel and walking conditions.

Look for deteriorating conditions in Southcentral, as the ridge drifts east and the front approaches, by tomorrow morning.  Gusty winds through Turnagain Arm along with snow and rain are on their way back to Southcentral.
