Weak low pressure systems are scattered around Alaska. Lows are centered over the Interior, just south of the SE Panhandle, the central Aleutians, and south of Kodiak Island.
Showers have been scattered in the Kotzebue and Faribanks areas. Look for partly to mostly cloudy skies and decreasing showers this morning then isolated showers later this afternoon. Highs 40s NW Alaska with 60s and 70s Interior.
Sunshine from Bethel to Aniak and Unalakleet will remain much of the day with coastal 50s and inland 60s to near 70. A few clouds will crop up by afternoon along the coast.
The central and northern Panhandle will have rain and breezes through the afternoon with 50s in response to a jet streak moving east to west out of Canada into the northern Gulf of Alaska.
Clouds will break around noon in Southcentral then thicken up again later this afternoon, if not earlier in PWS. Showers will increase in PWS this afternoon but mainly dry weather is expected throughout the Cook Inlet region.
Highs will push above 60 degrees in Anchorage, assuming we see a few periods of sunshine. 60s for highs are back for the Mat Su.
Similar weather is expected tomorrow. By Friday, a stronger closed low will move through the Aleutians into Southcentral, bringing cooler temps and heavier coastal rain back to southern AK.
