An upper level trough over NE Alaska is digging across the rest of the state. Rain has been slowly spreading southward over the Interior into SW and Southcentral. This is a slow-moving feature---as a result, expect cloudy and wet weather to persist for all areas of the state except the northern Interior and Aleutians.
Highs will range from the 30s along the Arctic coast to near 70 in the western Interior. Southcentral can expect 50s with periods of rain all day into tonight. There will be very little if any sunshine today. Most of the showers in Anchorage will be light but the Mat Su could see heavier periods of rain.
The Interior is in for morning rain with periods of sun by afternoon and isolated showers and thunderstorms. Highs will reach the 60s.
SE will have showers with mostly cloudy skies and 50s. SW will also stay in the 50s with rain moving over the region from the north.
Damp and gray weather is likely tomorrow over many of the same parts of the state. However, pockets of sunshine could emerge by afternoon or evening in Southcentral.
