Another chilly day will give way to warmer conditions beginning tomorrow throughout Southcentral and Western Alaska.
While the Inlet Region will remain dry and a little milder, PWS and the eastern Kenai Peninsula are in for more rain and snow showers activity. Temps there will remain cold, with 30s and 40s.
Expect upper 40s to low 50s in Anchorage and the Mat Su.
Quiet conditions and mostly sunny skies are in store for Southwest. However, highs will stay in the 40s.
Rain, with brief heavy showers, is likely across the northern Panhandle, generally north of a line from Sitka to Juneau. Due to cloud cover and rain threat, highs will top out in the 40s. Partly to mostly sunny skies in the southern Panhandle will allow temps to push into the 50s.
An isolated mountain shower or thunderstorm in response to weak instability and daytime heating could wander off the higher terrain and impact some populated areas over the Interior. Highs will reach the 50s.
Flooding along the lower and upper Kuskokwim River due to ice jamming remains a concern. In the village of Kwethluk, a Flood Warning is posted for severe flooding that has already occurred. Conditions will be ripe for localized minor to severe flooding along the Kuskokwim over the next couple of days.
As far as the warm-up goes, temps will push into the 60s in Southcentral by Wednesday or Thursday. We could warm to near 70 degrees by the weekend. Areas of the Interior may see temps as warm as 80 degrees!
