A small storm system moved out of Bristol Bay overnight and is tracking into Southcentral this morning.  A moderate to heavy burst of snow along the frontal boundary will push through Southcentral today, with scattered snow showers behind the front through the overnight and into tomorrow.

Snow will total anywhere from 2 to 5 inches over the Kenai Peninsula, Anchorage area, and the Mat Su through tonight, with locally higher amounts near the mountains.  Snow will intensify later this morning in PWS.  Up to 8 inches are likely through Friday.

Snow will spread into the northern Panhandle, as well.  Up to a foot is possible near Yakutat.  Rain and snow will linger in the central and southern Panhandle with little snow accumulation.

Temperatures will be 5 to 25 degrees warmer today statewide, except for the west and northwest coast.  Another very frigid day with even colder wind chills will persist from Bethel north to Kotzebue.  Inland, it will still be very cold, with highs near 15 to 30 below, but considering how cold it has been, this is a noticable improvement.

Highs will reach the teens along Cook Inlet later today.  As skies partially clear late tonight and snow tapers off, temperatures will again drop to near zero in areas, followed up by a mostly to partly cloudy and chilly Friday.
