While the major storm that pulled into Southcentral yesterday has weakened, it will still be a force around the state.
Rain, snow, and strong winds are again forecast for Southcentral and Southeast Alaska.
Blizzard warnings remain for the Bristol Bay region until 4 pm. Snow, blowing snow, and drifting snow will make for difficult travel and reduced visibilities. This has been one of the biggest, if not the biggest, storms of the season for much of the region.
Warmer air is making it's way all the way through the Interior. This is welcome relief from the bitter cold. Some highs will be in the 20s.
But, cold winds continue for the Northwest. Wind chills will drop to 70 below at times in St. Lawrence Island and the far northwest quadrant of the state. Wind chill warnings and advisories have been issued for most of the west and northwest today.
More details to follow later this morning.
