Blue collar, black comedy. It's "Roseanne" meets "Arrested Development." Sure, it pushes the limits -- we aren't quite sure how we feel about the electric chair execution in the first five minutes -- but there is a lot of heart in all the characters so that it doesn't get too far removed from the family base.<br> <br> Lucas Neff stars as Jimmy, a 20-something kid suddenly finding himself with a kid of his own. His parents Virginia and Burt (Martha Plimpton and Garret Dillahunt) are reticent to keep the baby -- Virginia thinks he should safe-drop it at the fire station -- but by the first episode's end, the family has agreed to try to "keep Hope alive," which was, incidentally, a rumored working title for the show.
