Taylar Perez is no stranger to winter weather after being raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She also called the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota home for four years before moving to Alaska in November of 2018.
Taylar started her career at KEVN-TV in Rapid City as a Multimedia Journalist, and was soon promoted to Weekend Anchor and Producer at the station. Taylar is excited about her new role as a KTUU Morning Edition Multimedia Journalist/Producer and looks forward to telling the amazing stories of Alaskans from all over the state.
Taylar is a graduate of Black Hills State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Telecommunication and a minor in Spanish. She also has an associate’s degree in Musical Theater Performance from Casper College and loves all aspects of the performing arts.
Having spent many years enjoying the beauty of the Black Hills, Taylar says she can’t wait to experience the many adventures ahead as she explores the beautiful and immense mountains of Alaska. She loves to hike with her beagle named Raleigh, and if you have a favorite trail, she'd love to hear about it!
