Connect With Me

Matt grew up skiing, hiking, and running in Anchorage and around Alaska, and now he’s back to cover news in the 49th state.

Matt graduated from West Anchorage High School in 2015 and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to attend Colorado State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Communication.

While in school at CSU, Matt worked for Collegian TV, the university’s student television organization. He performed nearly every role at the station, including anchoring, producing, and behind-the-camera work as a member of the studio crew.

Matt is a general assignment reporter at KTUU, but loves covering science and technology news and learning more about Alaska Native culture and traditions. During the Summer of 2018, he worked with the village of Yakutat and the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe to produce a short documentary about a new community health clinic in Yakatat and how it aimed to support and complement the cultural values of the tribe.
