KENAI, Alaska (KTUU) - After midnight on Monday, a tip came in to police in Kenai that someone was prowling around the high school in the middle of the night.

Officers pulled up to Kenai Central High School to investigate, and located a 22-year-old man inside the girl's locker room.

The suspect was later identified by the Kenai Police Department as Bradley Smithwick, 22, of Kenai.

When police confronted him, they saw he had gathered a bag full of women's clothing items.

According to KPD, Smithwick didn't intend to be arrested quietly.

"He subsequently resisted arrest and fought with officers over their weapons," KPD wrote in the statement.

Following the scuffle, Smithwick was arrested on charges of burglary, theft, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer. He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial.
