4.5 magnitude earthquake strikes 20 miles west of Anchorage

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The Alaska Earthquake Center is reporting that a 4.5 magnitude quake struck 20 miles west of Anchorage at around 9:19 p.m.

Many people took to social media to report a jolt felt throughout Anchorage, into the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and down through the Kenai Peninsula.

The information released by the Alaska Earthquake Center came from automatic sensors that reported the earthquake struck at a depth of around 34 miles.
