A break in the clouds as storms move off from Anchorage, but will return

Anchorage, Alaska (KTUU) Anchorage will warm up to 36 degrees while under partly sunny skies on Tuesday.

Then, temperatures will drop down to 27 degrees tonight with 40 mph wind gusts after midnight in higher elevations while under cloudy skies.

For tomorrow we will be under cloudy skies with a high of 41 degrees as well as 30 mph wind gusts along Turnagain Arm.

Looking ahead we drop down to 28 degrees on Wednesday night before we warm up to 41 degrees on Thursday with a 70 percent chance for rain and snow showers.

Iditarod Weather:

a] Elim 21/20 cloudy with a 60 percent chance of less than half of an inch of snow with winds out of the northeast at 10 mph. (Tuesday at 1:00 am)

b] White Mountain 21/20 mostly cloudy with a 60 percent chance of less than half of an inch of snow (mainly before 7 am) with winds out of the north from 5-10 mph. (Tuesday 7:52 am)

c] Safety 22/21 (rising temperatures to 27 degrees around 4 am) cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow with winds out of the northeast from 10-15 mph. (Tuesday 11:48 pm)

d] Nome 20/19 (rising temperatures to 25 degrees around 4 am) cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow mainly before 7 am with winds out of the northeast around 10 mph. (Wednesday 3:00 am)
