A man is behind bars, another suspect is on the run, after a bike robbery Tuesday

ANCHORAGE, (KTUU) - Anchorage Police say one person is on the run, another is behind bars after both were part of a bike robbery near 14th Avenue and B Street Tuesday.

APD says the victim called to report him and his friend were robbed at knifepoint.

Once police officers arrived on the scene, they saw the victim who was pointing down the street. Officers saw the suspects running; one of them had a bike and the other was on a scooter. When the suspects saw the officers they continued running across an empty lot on A Street and ignored the officers’ commands to stop, the suspect with the bike threw it on the ground.

After the chase that saw one of the suspects get away, police put the cuffs on 19-year-old Craig R. Lane.

After looking into Lane’s background, APD learned he had two outstanding warrants issued by the Alaska State Troopers in Kotzebue. He was additionally charged with Robbery I and two counts of Assault III.

As for the second suspect, police believe they have them identified. Once that identity has been confirmed, a warrant will be obtained for their arrest.

APD says no one was hurt in the robbery.
