A warm, slushy weekend ahead for Southcentral

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Anchorage will head into the long weekend with cloudy skies for Friday and a good chance to see some rain and snow on Saturday and Sunday. Daytime temperatures staying in the mid-30s.

Next week, a change in the weather pattern will usher in cold air. Anchorage temperatures will drop into the teens during the day and the single digits overnight.

Cloudy skies in the Matanuska Valley for Friday with some isolated rain/snow showers possible. Rain and snow continue through the Susitna Valley. Some locations say 30 to 40 inches of snow in the Susitna Valley in the past 48 hours! Stay safe if you’re heading out to recreate in all that snow.

Cold air will move into the Interior by the middle of next week with some locations expecting to see below zero temperatures for their daytime highs!
