Anchorage Police say 21-year-old Shirley Borrero-Qinones and 20-year-old Hector Rivera have been taken into custody.
APD said a tip provided though the Crime Stoppers line lead to the arrest of the duo. MJ Thim, a spokesperson for Anchorage Police said Rivera and Borrero-Qinones were found in an apartment in the area of 15th and Cordova streets around 8 o'clock Saturday morning.
Online court records show both are scheduled to appear for an arraignment Sunday afternoon.
Two people are wanted for the robbery and assault of an Anchorage cab driver on March 22.
According to an APD community alert, officers are on the lookout for 21-year-old Shirley Borrero-Qinones and 20-year-old Hector Rivera.
Both are wanted on charges of first degree robbery.
Police describe Borrero-Qinones as 5-foot-1, weighing 145 pounds. Her hair and eyes are both brown.
Riveras is described as 5-foot-4, weighing 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
The night of the crime, APD reports that the victimized cab driver was flagged down by a group of stranded-looking people. When the cab driver pulled over for the group, a police report indicates that he was robbed and beaten by two individuals, with a third individual nearby. The cab driver alleged the suspects fled the scene in a dark sedan.
