APD investigates shooting near Minnesota and 100th Ave.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Anchorage police officers responded to an early morning shooting on Saturday.

According to a Nixle, dispatch received a call that an adult male subject had been shot in a tent in a wooded area near Minnesota and 100th ave.

Officers and a K9 unit responded and located the victim. Anchorage Fire Department also responded and helped get the victim out of the woods.

The victim was shot at least once in the upper body and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was not located and no one is in custody. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact APD dispatch at 3-1-1.
