ANCHORAGE (KTUU) — Oct. 18 Update:
A suspect in a January homicide in Anchorage has been arrested, according to APD.
Linda Richards reportedly fled Alaska, and APD requested help from the U.S. Marshals Service to locate her.
She was found Thursday morning in East Point, Michigan, hiding in a home there. Marhals took her into custody and transported her to Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
In a release Thursday, APD said detectives will coordinate with law enforcement in Michigan to extradite Richards back to Alaska.
Now, detectives will continue investigating other people possibly involved in the January homicide.
Anchorage Police are asking the public to help in locating an Anchorage woman wanted for murder, kidnapping, and robbery in connection to a January homicide.
Investigators are looking for Linda Richards, 49, in connection to the January shooting death of 52-year-old Carl R. Bowie Jr.
In July, 18-year-old Austin Cottrell Jr. was indicted on murder, kidnapping, and robbery charges for his alleged involvement in Bowie Jr.'s death.
Prosecutors say Anchorage Police were called to the Penguin Trailer Court off Spenard Road for reports of shots fired on Jan. 28. Responding officers found Bowie dead inside a residence. Witnesses told police they saw several people running from the scene.
Police say Richards should be considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached by members of the public.
APD asks that anyone who sees Richards or knows of her whereabouts to call 911 or 561-STOP to remain anonymous.
